When you want to build a new building on your commercial property, you might need to construct the foundation around buried utility lines. Maybe you need to repair burst pipes but aren’t sure how to do so without further damaging the pipe. How can you dig and preserve the structures already buried under your feet? The solution is hydrovac excavation.
At Arctic Backhoe Services Ltd., we provide Yukon hydrovac services from Whitehorse for industries that need environmentally friendly drilling methods. With over 30 years in the industry, we provide you with a non-destructive drilling method to help you accomplish your goals.
What is Hydrovac Excavation?
Hydrovac excavation is a unique method that allows you to preserve any underground structures near your dig site. Our technicians drive a hydrovac truck to your site and insert rods into the ground – typically around the area you want to dig up. Then, they release pressurized water into the soil. The soil then liquefies and turns into a runny mud by-product.
Once the soil enters this liquid state, our technicians use vacuum power to remove the mud and dispose of it in the truck’s debris tank. This process allows them to remove unwanted soil and conserve any items buried under the dig site. Once they remove all of the dirt from the area, you can then proceed with whatever project you began.
